They were married in 1990 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they both graduated from Victory Bible Institute. Answering the call of God to go to the world and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15) they spent the first four years of married life traveling to several countries throughout Asia and Europe teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
They moved to Lakeland, Florida in August of 1994 to attend a local aviation school so Don could obtain his Airframe and Power plant license to work on aircraft. At that time, Wings of Eagles International, Inc. was founded as a missionary aviation ministry.
They started by making monthly flights to Mexico with medicine and medical supplies. Teams of medical personnel from the USA and Mexico use the supplies to minister to the needs of the people in the villages. Later, flights were added to Haiti and the Bahamas.
As the ministry grew they began receiving donations of household items that could not be used in Mexico or simply could not fit into the airplane. They perceived a big gap in what the Scripture says about the local church helping the poor and needy, (Acts 4:32-37) and the reality of what local churches were really capable of doing. Thus, The Outreach Center of Central Florida was born.
The Outreach Center became the link for churches to begin to reach out to the needy. As it became well known in the community thousands of families and individuals began to get the help they needed.
Before long, another group of people were discovered who seemed to have fallen between the cracks of life, women just released from prison. They came to us for community service hours to fulfill the requirements of their probation or parole. Sometimes, they would just stop coming one day and we found out they had violated the terms of their release. It was obvious that they needed instruction how to stop the cycle of violence and destruction in their lives. Thus, The Second Chance Training Center, Inc. was born.
Today all three ministries are separate 501(c)3 non-profit ministries. They operate separately, but flow together as one. Each compliments the other and helps bring the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting world.
